Daniel Vega-Albela, COO

A dedicated violin professor at New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, Daniel has a passion for music and visual storytelling that fueled his journey from Mexico City to New York City, and finally to the vibrant Southwestern United States.

At NMSU, Daniel nurtures young musical talents and explores photography, videography, and sound engineering. What began as a hobby grew into a profound passion. Encouraged by peers and supported by his wife, Crystal Massey, Executive Director of Liquid Crystal Productions, Daniel founded the company to capture life in the Southwest. Their focus is on affordability and community support, creating visual narratives that are accessible and meaningful.

Daniel’s musical background enriches his filmmaking, with each project showing an artist’s attention to detail and a storyteller’s sensitivity. From documenting events to crafting heartfelt films, Liquid Crystal Productions is earning a reputation for blending technical expertise with genuine storytelling.

Despite the challenges of running a startup, Daniel remains devoted to teaching at NMSU. His dual passions for music and filmmaking provide endless creative inspiration and fresh perspectives.

As Liquid Crystal Productions grows, Daniel and Crystal remain committed to their mission: creating visual narratives that celebrate the beauty, diversity, and stories of the Southwest—one frame at a time.
